CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Kara Cunningham Williams has rejoined Steptoe & Johnson’s Charleston, W.Va. office. She will practice in the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Department.
Williams returns to Steptoe & Johnson from the West Virginia Public Service Commission, where she served as a Commissioner from 2015 – 2017. She has also served as an adjunct lecturer at the West Virginia University College of Law.
Williams is a West Virginia native and is an active member of the Charleston and Lewisburg, W.Va. communities. She is a member of the board of directors for Carnegie Hall, Inc. in Lewisburg, and The Children's Home Society of West Virginia, Inc. in Charleston. She has held leadership positions in numerous other organizations including the YWCA of Charleston and the American Inns of Court.
She earned her law degree from Harvard Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University.
